Why am I hiding from You
when You stand so still?
I am the one who plays—
slipping away
whenever I choose.
I am not afraid;
I know You remain,
steady and waiting.
This strange game—
hide and seek—
I play it with You.
Grant me strength, Beloved,
to stop fleeing and to seek.
Where are You?
You are within me,
all around me.
Why this play with the invisible?
Layers cloak my sight,
blurring what once was clear.
I grow tired of these veils;
they force me to hide.
I long to undo them,
dissolve them,
to see You plainly—
everywhere, always.
Guide me.
Usher me.
Lead me toward that clear seeing.
No more hide and seek.
Please !
